    Wiisis Preview Announcement

    Wiisis Preview Announcement
RenEvo Software & Designs wishes everyone a merry Christmas and happy holidays! Although we wish our present this year could have been a finished copy of the Wiisis modification, which promises to bring the Nintendo Wii Remote into the world of Crysis, this cannot be delivered. Wiisis still remains at 99% completion. So in its place, we would like to give the community several goodies from the modification to show off all of its cool features! We hope you like our gift and understand why Wiisis could not be released yet, which will be explained further on.

    The Delay
RenEvo Software & Designs is under a Non-Discloser Agreement with Crytek GmbH as one of the modification teams that received the pre-SDK. This SDK has allowed us to reach the 99% completion point on the modification. Until our NDA is lifted (which will occur at the same time the public SDK is released), Wiisis cannot move into the 100% completion point and be released. Wiisis must be built on and tested with the public SDK to ensure the integrity of the mod and its corresponding API is maintained with the retail version of Crysis, Sandbox 2 and the SDK’s contents.

As soon as the Public SDK is made available by Crytek and RenEvo Software & Designs’ NDA is lifted, we will put all effort into getting Wiisis released in its entirety shortly thereafter.

    Demonstration Video
We have prepared a roughly five-minute video for your viewing pleasure narrated by Vloktboky which demonstrates some of the features in Wiisis and what will be included in the mod’s initial release. The video details some of the different controls with which you can use to play the game and how aiming works in-game. It also talks about some of the cooler features including Retain View mode (similar to the “lock on” feature in Metroid Prime 3 and “Z Targetting” in the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess). We hope you enjoy the video and find it both entertaining and informative. (You can laugh at the narrator if you like!)

Click here to view the demonstration video. Note that the video is located on Stage6 and is encoded in DivX. You will need to download the DivX Web Player in order to view the video.

    Wiisis Manual
Included in our gift is the actual manual for Wiisis, prepared for the latest internal beta version. This manual is over thirty pages in length and details everything from installation and FAQs, to many of Wiisis’ features and all of the many different controls and gestures used in-game. The manual will naturally be included with Wiisis once released, but we felt the reading material may help you understand just what Wiisis has to offer. And hopefully once you finish reading it, enough time will have passed for the Crysis Public SDK to be completed!

Click here to download the manual.

    Wii Remote API
Although the demonstration video mentioned above does cover this area, we wanted to make a special note of the Wii Remote API to be released alongside Wiisis and give a few more details on it. The Wii Remote API is comprised of C++ code, a standalone tool and documentation. The C++ code includes the Wii Remote library which allows for communication with the Nintendo Wii Remote and is designed to work more easily with the Crysis SDK. The source code for Wiisis will also be included for reference purposes. The standalone tool can be used to communicate with the Wii Remote and supports all the features of the Wii Remote library, including real-time updated charts that map out the motions of the Wii Remote and Nunchuk extension controllers.

This API is intended for other mod teams who wish to bring the Nintendo Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers into their own modifications. We think this can open up the door for a lot of new and creative mods, and we plan to support those teams who wish to try.

    Happy Holidays!
We hope you enjoy this gift from us to you for this holiday season. Keep your eyes peeled on RenEvo’s website for more information about Wiisis as it becomes available. We invite you to discuss Wiisis or ask any questions on our Wiisis Support Forum.
